An answer for COVID

Something COVID taught the food-serving industry is that many customers favored alternative ways to interact over the counter. Clover saw an opportunity to expand into the self-serve kiosk form-factor, but had to do it in a manner that was unique and competitive withn existing generic solutions.

Goal

Not just another kiosk

The fast food industry was quickly embracing kiosks, and it was no longer a proof-of-concept but rather an entirely new branch of the point-of-sale experience in need of revolution. Clover introduced two significant innovations: Voice and gesture interaction, coupled with extensive accessibility options.

Result

A fully accessible experience

The Clover Kiok was thought of as adaptable to any customer or location. It could tilt to meet the customer at any height (including wheelchairs) and interact with multiple choices: Keyboard, touch, gesture, voice. In addition, it could be deployed, and mounted on any situation (floor, wall, hanging, fixed, moveable). We helped the product’s management imagine the possibilities with sketches, renderings, and mock-ups of this future product’s UX and ergonomic aspects.
